Hey Gang

Here’s a quick look at what’s new with your DPE crew.

The next thing on my schedule is Photoshop World 2010 in Orlando on March 23-26. I know the conference officially starts on the 24 but not only I presenting during the conference I am teaching a pre conference workshop on Concert Photography which will include a LIVE CONCERT SHOOT. There is no other place that I know of where you can actually practice concert photography with an actual band playing, light moving, and people cheering. Space is extremely limited.

Check out:  Photoshop World.

Note from Rick: Alan – can I rock with you at the event? :-)

I’m very excited about 2010! So far, I will be leading two workshops in Costa Rica, teaching with Juan Pons in North Carolina and teaching with Rick Sammon at the DPexperience Learning weekend in Atlanta.

Not too shabby, and I have more events in the works. I have been to Costa Rica many times, but these will be my first workshops there. I’m looking forward to sharing this beautiful country with my students and helping them make petter photos. You can find out more about these trips and more at www.edgeoftheworldworkshops.com

Eddie Tapp and Judy Host

Eddie and are doing a workshop for Fotolia on Feb 12-13 on the Laws of Lighting for stock photography.  Go to Fotolia.com for more information.  The workshop is in San Francisco at the Fairmont Hotel in Union Square.

I’ll be the keynote speaker at the Georgia Nature Photographers’ Association annual convention later this month. The convention will be held at Callaway Gardens January 29-31. More information is available at www.gnpa.org.

Also, my new book, Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 Top 100 Simplified Tips and Tricks, is available.

Juan Pons

The beginning of the year is always my busiest time for workshops. I have workshops right here in my home state of NC, photographing Tundra Swans (about 20,000 of them spend their winters here), Snow Geese (about 80,000), and Black Bears.

Then in late February I head to Montana/Wyoming for my week long Winter in Yellowstone instructional photo workshop, they have been receiving lots of snow, so I expect this year to be spectacular. If you want to find out more, and possibly join me on one of the workshops in the future, visit my workshops website at http://wildnaturetours.com

Rick Sammon

My 1st app (for the iPhone and iTouch) is now available. Great fun – but lots of hard work with Dr. Dave Wilson. Check it out. App, app and away!
