How far would you go to get “THE SHOT”?

Well, if you are South African wildlife photographer Greg du Toit, seems you would go pretty far indeed. In this story, du Toit, talks about being semi-submerged for 270 hours in an African watering hole frequented by big game. In the process he contracted several tropical diseases, parasites, malaria, and a Hook Worm.

I myself have put up with dozens and dozens of leeches while standing in a swamp for a day, but that is nothing compared to this.

The result? Some stunning images of lions and other wildlife drinking from the watering hole from eye level!

Make sure to read the story here.

Truly amazing – and die-hard! Enduring mosquitoes for even a short amount of time can be just about unbearable. I can’t even imagine. Makes my itchy just sitting here reading about his adventures. But what great images…
