Rick on the Road – China, Day 1

April 23, 2010

Hey Gang,

Just a quick note to say “hi” from Beijing. My workshop group shot at the Summer Palace (HDR) today and at the Peking Opera (straight shots) tonight.

The Canon 5D Mark II sure is great in low light!

These three pictures have something in common. They were taken from a good position/location – not by accident. Always choose your position wisely for the best possible shot.

More pix (and tips) to come later this week – if I have internet where I am going: the middle of nowhere.

Please don’t judge picture quality from the images you see here. Just quick edits and posts from my hotel room. Just wanted to share a few pix.

Explore the light – and go out for some Chinese food tonight!

Nice fun and good angles. Look forward to seeing more! Enjoy and remember, you are in the Middle Kingdom which means you’ll be in the middle of nowhere but always be somewhere all the time–may want to talk to a monk to get that translated!
