DPE Atlanta Workshop Photos/Tips: Part IV

Our first DPE Altanta workshop was a blast. Rob Knight and I really enjoyed working with the 20 talented students.

We covered Lightroom, lighting, HDR and travel photography. What fun!

Each day this week I will try to post a picture/tip from the workshop. So stay tuned!

Today’s tip: Use a reflector/diffuser combo to control the light. In the above picture, a diffuser is held above the subject to soften the harsh shadows, while a reflector is held in front of the subject to add contrast to the scene. The reflector is also adding a bit of catch light in the subject’s eyes.

The above photograph was taken by Ron McKitrick.  The photographs below was taken by Richard Yoder.

We talk about stuff like this on our DPE workshops. Hope you can join the fun someday!

Explore the light,

Rick
