  1. Gary Simmons Says:

I have a followon question to one asked during the podcast…

During the podcast, you answered a question about “Edit in Photoshop” and you mentioned that you use a TIF file as the intermediate file between Lightroom and Photoshop, which is also the filetype that is saved out of Photoshop.

My question is: Why do you choose to use TIFs here, instead of the other option of PSD files?

    • Terry Says:

I had the very same question. I use PSD and wondering if I am doing something I shouldn’t – but it does seem to address the problem cited. (The question is about 28 minutes into the podcast)

    • Juan Pons Says:

      Gary & Terry,

It’s mostly out of habit that I use TIF files. There are advantages and disadvantages of using either PSD and TIF files.

I have been using TIF files for over 10 years, so I just stick to them. Besides habit, I don’t have a real reason why use TIF over PSD files in this case.
