I’m new to the podcast, but have been a Rick Sammon fan for a long time. Now I’m a Juan Pons fan as well. Because I’m new, I’m not sure if this is the place to post a comment, but I’ll try.

Two of the questions you answered concerned lens-buying decision-making. The last time I had to make a decision, I “borrowed” from BorrowLenses.com and made many test shots to help me make the decision. It was definitely money well-spent and I recommend that to anybody before they spend hard-earned money. In one case, the experience turned me a completely different direction than I was leaning.

Keep up the great work and I’m glad I found your podcast.

about the “focusing sharper” question in the podcast: i suspect he may have a front or back focus problem where the camera lens combo is not focusing to the correct point. to check this tape a ruler to the head of your tripod with the 1″ closest to you, tilt the head at 45° then focus on the 6″ mark and snap a picture. if any of the marks ate sharper than the 6, then you know focus is out of adjustment. shoot wide open for the test.
